StudentLeadership
Fostering StudentEmpowerment
At St Joseph’s School, student voice is strongly encouraged, empowering students to express their opinions, shape school initiatives, and take on various formal leadership roles across different areas, fostering positive change, community involvement, and social justice.
Student Representative Council
The Student Representative Council (SRC) is elected by staff and students, and includes students from Reception to Year 11, with our Year 12 students taking on significant leadership roles of School Captains and Vice-Captains. Together they work on initiatives to improve our school environment, activities and atmosphere, and work for social justice issues.
Sports Captains
Each House (Tenison, MacKillop and Penola) have Captains and Vice-Captains at both Primary (Year 6) and Secondary (Year 7) levels, who assist in the organisation and running of sporting events and athletic carnivals throughout the year.
Additional Leadership Roles
Our Music Captains help organise musical events for our school and wider community, and the Year 11 JJAMM Environmental Leaders work with other students from Josephite schools around the country to promote environmental initiatives throughout their schools. The Boarding Captains also work with our boarding students and staff to foster and promote their community.
